Lighthouse

A lighthouse in the desert
What might its message be
That here you can find water
And you may rest in peace

A lighthouse on the rocky shore
Beams bright its guiding light
Says, “Here you can find safety
Just keep me in your sight”

A lighthouse on the city street
Just how would it appear
A place of warmth and welcome
That’s felt when you draw near

A lighthouse on the mountain slope
A place to sit and rest
When you are tired and weary
When you have done your best

A lighthouse in an unknown place
For which you have no chart
Becomes a point of reference
A place to set your heart

A lighthouse stands for hope and life
A beacon strong and pure
Light and joy when all seems dark
A promise sure and true
